Understand your JSON. Instantly.
A local-first, keyboard-driven JSON workspace: format, explore, search, inspect and repair, entirely in your browser.
Why this exists
API responses, config exports and database dumps rarely arrive clean. Most viewers give up the moment a comma is out of place. JSONWeave keeps working: it explains exactly what is wrong, shows you where, and lets you fix it without losing your place.
What you can do
- Repair broken JSON: Fix trailing commas, unquoted keys, single quotes, missing commas and unclosed brackets, with a preview first.
- Work with partial JSON: Open truncated or incomplete JSON and inspect what arrived before you repair it.
- Format and minify: Pretty print with 2, 3 or 4 spaces or tabs, sort keys, or minify for transport.
- Validate with clear errors: See each syntax problem, where it is and why it is a problem.
- Tree, table and code views: Read nested JSON as a collapsible tree, an array of objects as a table, or as code.
- Search and query: Find keys and values, or query with JSONPath, jq or SQL-style SELECT. Copy results or open them as a new document.
- Compare two documents: See added, removed and changed values between two JSON documents.
- Inspect API responses: Paste a response, load a file, or fetch a URL that allows browser requests.
- Inspector: Select any value to see its type, path and length, with previews for links, colors, UUIDs, IPs and timestamps.
- Private share links: The document is compressed into the link itself, so a shared link never touches a server.
- Picks up where you left off: Your open document is restored after a reload, stored only in this browser.
- Light, dark and system themes: A Monaco-based editor with a dark and a light color scheme.
Your JSON stays in your browser
Local processing is the default, not an option. Parsing, formatting, searching and repair all happen in your browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you explicitly load a URL, and even then your browser talks directly to that address.
Frequently asked questions
What is JSONWeave?
A browser-based JSON workspace for developers. It formats, views, validates, searches, compares and repairs JSON, including documents that are malformed or incomplete.
How do I fix invalid JSON?
Paste it into JSONWeave and open Repair JSON. It lists each problem and previews the corrected document. Apply the fixes when the preview looks right.
Can JSONWeave repair incomplete JSON?
It can close unfinished objects, arrays and strings. It cannot recover data that was never received, so a truncated response stays truncated in content.
Is my JSON uploaded anywhere?
No. Parsing, formatting, search and repair run in your browser. The only network request is the one you start with Open from URL, and your browser sends it directly to that address.
Is JSONWeave free?
Yes. It is free and open source under the MIT license, with no sign-up.
Open the workspace. JSONWeave needs JavaScript to run.
